Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shook off the idea of a possible rift between him and Commanders owner Daniel Snyder.
The update on the two owners’ relationship comes on the heels of an ESPN report alleging that Snyder told an employee he had “dirt” on Jones.
Snyder also told another employee that he had enough information to blow up Jones, several other NFL owners and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, claiming that “they can’t fuck me,” ESPN reported.
“Everything in it was news to me,” Jones said during his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “I don’t have that kind of problem.”

Jones has been known over the years as one of Snyder’s closest allies. But according to ESPN, Jones recently said privately that he “may not be able” to continue protecting Snyder.
The Washington Commanders and team owner Daniel Snyder have come under fire in recent years over allegations that the organization has fostered a toxic work environment.
The NFL’s owners are meeting in New York City next week, but a discussion about Snyder’s owner status is officially off the agenda. At least 24 owners would have to vote against Snyder to remove him.

Jones made it clear that he was still in a relationship with Snyder.
“I have a long relationship with Dan,” Jones said. “It’s definitely a competitive relationship on the field and one that’s part of the NFL.”
Snyder bought the Washington franchise in 1999. Meanwhile, Jones had a team for several years. Jones reportedly took on a mentorship role with Snyder during his first few seasons as Washington’s team principal.
Jones is widely regarded as one of the league’s more influential owners.

Jones and Snyder have been seen vacationing together with their respective families over the years. In 2010 they filmed a commercial together.
Jones said a close relationship between owners is not common.
“They’re just not because of the competitive aspect and what it means for individual owners to compete and represent those different NFL teams,” he said. “It’s not a natural partnership at all. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have a lot of respect for owners, and I do.”
Thursday’s report also revealed that Snyder allegedly told another confidant that “the NFL is a mafia” and that “all other owners hate each other.” To which another unnamed team owner told ESPN that was not true and that “all owners hate Dan”.

Snyder’s legal representatives and a spokesman for the commander vehemently denied the claims made in the report.
“This is absolutely false,” Brownlee and Nash told ESPN of the file claims. “He has not prepared ‘files’ on owners.”
