‘Atozy You Won’ – Bitboy Drops Lawsuit After Raising $200,000 Defense

Ben Armstrong, the man behind Bitboy Crypto, said he is dropping the defamation charges against fellow YouTube content creator Erling Mengshoel Jr., who goes by the name Atozy.

Armstrong officially filed suit against Mengshoel on August 12 in response to a November 2021 video titled “This YouTuber is cheating on his fans… Bitboy Crypto,” who claimed that Armstrong unfairly promoted dubious assets to his public, such as PAMP, for his own gain. He demanded $75,000 in damages for the ordeal.

However, Armstrong suggested in a livestream Wednesday that he is now withdrawing the complaint after Mengshoel managed to raise more than $200,000 for his defense.

The crypto YouTuber outlined that he initially filed the complaint with the aim of getting Mengshoel to remove the video and suggested that he didn’t really want to go through the legal process.

However, Armstrong explained that Atozy now has enough to cover the legal costs, and with prominent crypto trader/podcasters like Cobie (Jordan Fish) donating $100,000 to the cause, the dispute has gone further than it originally intended.

“So we’re going to drop the lawsuit, 100% and I’m sorry this went public, I’m sorry this was misconstrued, but I want you to understand why I did this. This was not about a slapstick lawsuit.”

“If anyone is suggesting that you could get in trouble from the SEC, they’re not frivolous guys, that’s a very serious matter. And so from my perspective, trying to defend my reputation, trying to get him to remove the video that literally contains misinformation, that’s all I wanted,” he added.

At the time of writing, Atozy’s video is still online and has nearly 190,000 views. In the Bitboy livestream, Armstrong begged Mengshoel to at least edit parts of the video he took over. In the end, however, Armstrong noted that Atozy “won”.

Commenting on the case, Atozy states that everything has yet to be resolved, as he is still waiting for official confirmation from his lawyer that the complaint was dismissed with “bias”.

“My lawyer has told me that if it is not biased, he can resubmit at any time,” he wrote, adding that once official confirmation comes in, he will refund all money to everyone who donated to the case. .
