To reduce a potbelly for good, consider adding a mix of unsalted dried fruits and nuts to your grocery list for nutritious snacks. Keep these tasty snacks within reach where you spend a lot of time, such as your desk, car and living room. Having healthy snacks on hand for a fun treat will prevent you from consuming something that isn’t good for you.

Instilling this habit for everyday tasks like brushing your teeth and taking out the trash will help any muscle imbalances. Xytakis tells us, “This method is a great way to increase the mind-body connection while doing ordinary tasks in a new way.”
The next time you decide to make mac and cheese for dinner, add some broccoli or spinach. “You can even toss it with the boiling pasta,” suggests Xytakis.

Every time you go to the grocery store, make it a game of choosing a different fruit or vegetable for that particular week. Xytakis points out, “This will help include more veggies in your diet, and you never know which new veggie might be your next favorite!”
It’s pretty fun to challenge yourself to take a few extra steps every day. It’s so convenient to drive a car – and much faster! But every step you take counts, and adding unexpected steps will make a big difference in the long run.
Two of the most important habits are probably staying true to a balanced diet and exercise. Both are important, because it is you who stands up for yourself. Xytakis tells us, “Taking care of yourself and your health is a way of showing that you want to be able to do things for as long as possible while making them feel good. It also shows others in your life that you care, and you want to be there for them.” She adds: “Starting small, being consistent and having a plan will help individuals maintain a healthy lifestyle. Also, having the right support to provide positive feedback and motivation as they make changes is critical.”
