Update, it has been pointed out that Iran International has tagged the Twitter account @SpaceXStarlink, a comment account and unaffiliated with SpaceX.
We have contacted the Iranian international ask via Twitter if they meant SpaceX Starlink or that particular Twitter account.
Update: Iran International confirmed that it was indeed Starlink’s website that was blocked.

Iran’s government has blocked SpaceX’s Starlink website after Elon Musk’s response to activating Starlink for Iranians, Iran International said on Twitter. Yesterday, Elon Musk announced that he was activating Starlink in response to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s tweet announcing that a general license had been issued to provide the Iranian people with the Internet.

The Iranian government is trying to end the mass protests that led to the murder of an innocent young woman, Mahsa Amini, who died while in the hands of the national vice squad. She was arrested for not wearing her headscarf properly.
According to the vice squad, she died of heart failure. However, eyewitnesses saw them hit her and bang her head against the side of a police car. Leaked medical scans also revealed she had suffered a brain haemorrhage and a stroke.
The Persian news site noted that the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said the US Treasury Department’s issuance of a general license to support internet freedom in Iran was an attempt to “violate Iran’s sovereignty” and that it will not go unanswered.

In addition to the Starlink website, the religiously extreme government blocked the access to LinkedIn and has used satellite jamming technology to prevent citizens from watching Iran Internationals own channel. The news site noted that signal interference has extremely harmful effects on people’s health.
Along with Elon Musk, Starlink and other members of the international community, Iran’s exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi also supports the citizens of Iran. He told members of the Iranian military,
“You have sworn to defend your people and territory. People say they don’t want to take revenge on you members of the military. Come to us and protect people from our domestic enemy.”
As this unfolds, we will continue to update you on Starlink and its impact on Iran.
