UFC Vegas 60 weigh-in results: Aspen Ladd struggles on scale again, misses weight by 2 pounds, fight with Sara McMann canceled

Aspen Ladd has once again tripped over the scales.

At Friday’s official weigh-in for UFC Vegas 60, Ladd weighed 138 pounds, two pounds over the limit for her bantamweight fight against Sara McMann, which is scheduled for Saturday’s preliminary card at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

The UFC later announced that her fight with McMann has been canceled.

Ladd struggled making weight during her UFC career, previously coming in heavily for fights against Leslie Smith and Macy Chiasson which were both subsequently canceled (Smith declined a catchweight bout, Ladd was forced to pull out of the Chiasson- competition due to health problems). She also missed weight for a fight against Jessica Hoy at Invicta FC 18 in July 2016.

Bantamweight headliners Cory Sandhagen and Song Yadong – currently ranked No. 4 and No. 14 respectively in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings – successfully put on weight, with both contenders weighing in at 135.5 pounds.

Middleweight Alen Amedovski also missed 0.5lbs on his first try, coming in at 186.5lbs for his fight with Joe Pyfer. Doctors gave Amedovski permission for a second attempt, and he later successfully reached a weight of 185.5 pounds.

Also worth noting, Tanner Boser weighed in at 229 pounds for a heavyweight fight, 32 pounds lighter than opponent Rodrigo Nascimento, who tipped the scales at 261 pounds.
